ABC Learning Centre Shares Down 70%
Calling for safeguards for children and parents, Australian child care advocates are calling for changes in child care management that protect centres from the “marketplace”. That echos the OCBCC call for Ontario to direct licenses to not-for-profit child care. Another interesting note in the piece below is the statement that the child care centres will not close because the Australian government already provides most of the funding.
Like Ontario, Australia subsidizes parents to purchase child care. If the Australian government is providing most of the funding for child care, why would they want to see some of that money diverted from care to profits? A good question for Ontario’s Provincial government as well.
