Just one year ago, the Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care was touring Ontario sounding the alarm on for-profit, corporate child care. In community after community, we signed petitions, held community meetings and warned that early learning and child care services do not belong on the stock exchange.
 
We warned people about ABC Learning Centres, the world's largest for-profit chain. They have since gone bankrupt with huge costs to the Australian government, parents and child care staff.
 
We need to learn the important message - early learning and child care programs should be run by public, not-for-profit and Aboriginal entities - not companies on the stock exchange!
