Celebrating Child Care Worker & Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day!

The ninth annual Child Care Worker and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day is being celebrated on October 21, 2009.

This year for the second time an award to recognize the importance of child care advocacy work will be presented. Dr. Charles Pascal, who authored the report “With Our Best Future In Mind” will receive the "Excellence in Advocacy" award for new early learning and care vision at Toronto City Hall Members Lounge.

Ontario’s children and families deserve a quality, early learning and care system that implements fully the recommendations in the recent report of the province’s Early Learning and Care advisor, Dr. Charles Pascal, say early learning and child care advocates presenting Dr. Pascal with the second annual Excellence in Advocacy Award at a recognition breakfast tomorrow morning, Wednesday, October 21 at 8:00 a.m., Toronto City Hall Members Lounge.

Tracy Saarikoski, Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care (OCBCC) President, will highlight why the ground-breaking recommendations in Dr. Pascal’s report, With Our Best Future in Mind, should be the model adopted by the Ontario government for early learning and care.

Ontario parents speak out in support of the Dr. Pascal report and Full-day Learning. Also media conference at Queen's Park with Diane Kashin, President-Elect, Association of Early Childhood Educators Ontario and Tracy Saarikoski, OCBCC President.
