Chow puts spotlight on child care

On Saturday, June 27, 2015, Olivia Chow spoke to about 40 NDP supporters at the Brantford & District labour Centre. The topic of the day was affordable child care in Canada. Chow suggested that eliminating income splitting, which benefits 15% of Canadians would make it possible to fund a universal child care system. She also speaks upon personal experience, stating that her daughters have paid about $30,000 a year for child care and luckily they were able to afford it. Unfortunately the high cost leaves families in desperate need of high quality affordable care.  Chow introduced her $15 a day plan that would create over a million child care spaces.
