March 16: Toronto Child Care Now protest meets at College and Bay

DEMAND CHILDCARE NOW!

Join parents and children and allies in a kids block as part of the Anti-Austerity march and rally on Friday, March 16th, in the lead up to the 2012 Provincial budget. The McGuinty government has hired former head of the TD Bank, Don Drummond, to propose and provide the basis for massive social cutbacks in their 2012 budget. These cuts will devastate child care in Ontario. The poorly planned and underfunded transition to all day kindergarten has left child care centres throughout the province scrambling to re-tool and prepare without adequate funding. Without adequate provincial funding, centres will be forced to close, leaving thousands of children without affordable childcare, families unable to work and a growing wait list for subsidy.

Join the CHILDCARE NOW KIDS BLOCK at the Solidarity Against Austerity March on March 16th at noon! Bring your kids, friends, noise makers, flags and signs! Meet at Noon at College and Bay under the Childcare Now Banner!
