"Faced with a projected $7.5-million budget deficit in 2010/11, Cambrian College has decided to close its 51-space day care operation, lay off most of its maintenance department and turn the operation of its residence buildings over to a management company. to questions regarding Bill 242.

Cambrian president Sylvia Barnard blamed the cuts of the province's funding model for colleges.

...The closing of the Play and Learn Day Care Centre and Carrousel Family Child Care program June 30 will see the layoff of five child-care workers and one manager."
