Ontario seeking more power over unregulated daycare

This article discusses the power of the Ministry of Education as they oversee child care in Ontario. Provincial officials are not automatically informed of complaints to different agencies, nor do they track public health inspections of unlicensed daycares.

The Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care is calling for all child care spaces in Ontario to be licensed. “There has to be rules. Somebody has to inspect. And providing support for providers is a really important aspect to this, too," said coordinator Andrea Calver.
