Q: 4. Do you have any further comments on any of the proposed regulation changes?

A: Most of the changes put more options in the hands of child care centres. These are positive moves that also balance what may well be a critical shortage in RECE’s over the next 5-10 years

Q: 4. Do you have any further comments on any of the proposed regulation changes?
A: I would really like to know if the people making these changes have worked with children and families in child care settings. I feel that these changes shows no respect for the qualtiy of work that is expected of Early Childhood Educators, children and families. I would propose a nationwide strike by all Early Childhood Educators until respect for the work that is done by everyone in the field is shown. Children are our future and we have a great impact on the lives of young children and their families. Children need the utmost care and attention and the Government needs to invest in young chidlren and make sure the highest qualtiy is provided. I am in this field for 21 years and nothing has changed with regards to providing what is really needed for the highest qualtiy care. All policies and procedures, Government legislation is needed but the most important aspect of early learning for young children is always sweept under the carpet.
