North Bay Nugget:  All-day kindergarten in 7 local schools

"A call to director of education Cynthia Roveda was not immediately returned Tuesday. But she said in a release the announcement does not represent a change for students and parents, although it will change how kindergartens are funded and will improve services before and after school."

"New Democrat Leader Andrea Horwath, however, said the Liberal plan will leave most Ontario children without the child-care support they need."

"Horwath said the announcement fails to address a growing child-care crisis."

"What about all those preschoolers and their families who are facing the loss of their childcare 10 weeks from now?" said Horwath.
