This article discusses the current unlicensed child care system and what needs to be reviewed. There have been many unfortunate occurrences in unlicensed child care centres in the past which includes an infant who was shaken to death in 2011 and a toddler who was found at the bottom of a swimming pool in 2010. NDP critic Monique Taylor states that the government needs to make sure that parents have a safe place to leave their children while at work.
