Canada's child care champion Martha Friendly is honoured at Trent University with a honorary doctorate. This is the first time anyone in the field of child care has received such an award for research and activism! Martha founded the Child Care Resource & Research Unit in 1982 and without her research, there would not be any statistics or analysis of licensed child care in Canada.
