During elections, the Ford government made promises to create a child care tax rebate to help cover up to 75% of costs to child care in order to help make high quality child care more accessible for all families. Ford has yet to mention how the rebate will be funded and whether or not more cuts to money spent on child care will result, causing advocates to wonder how the rebate will impact the child care sector especially with the recent removal of the for-profit threshold.
