Child Care In Parkdale-High Park

Child care is an ongoing issue in Ontario, and every parent in Parkdale-High Park knows that our community is  one of the worst hit when it comes to wait times, daily costs and new child care openings.

Did you know that child care costs only $17/day in Manitoba?

...And only $7/day in Quebec?

Yet here in Ontario, no provincial child care plan exists, and parents are, in many cases, paying more than $100/day for unsubsidized child care.

WHERE IS OUR PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT ON THIS?

Parents need affordable child care, yet daily we see parents who can't afford to enrol their children, parents who call weekly to retain their place on years-long wait lists, and daycare operators and providers who languish waiting for provincial licensing staff to even look at their files, much less license them to open for families desperate for a spot.

WE NEED ACTION FROM THE PROVINCE.

Cheri will be hosting a Town Hall meeting to discuss these issues.  We ask you to join us to listen to our panelists and share your stories and opinions.
