Families enrolled at a daycare in The Junction area of Toronto received a letter from their child care centre alerting them it was going to close in 60 days. For families living in child care deserts, places in Canada with a limited number of licensed child care spaces, it is distressing to think of what to do for child care and sparks advocates to continue to question the expansion of for-profit child care and whether or not it really will improve access to child care for all families.
