City to strike child care review committee

The Sault Star

City council will strike a review committee to examine all options regarding the city’s municipal child care system. Striking the committee was unanimously approved by city council before packed council chambers. The committee will report back to council with its findings and recommendations but has not been given a time line to do so. In the meantime, the child care system will operate as usual and council was told there is still about $1 million of provincial transitional funding that will continue to be used to maintain the existing system. It’s expected that the committee will report back to city council prior to the next municipal budget.
