Ontario ombudsman André Marin has launched a preliminary investigation into the government's failure to look into allegations against an unlicensed Vaughan childcare where 2 year old Eva Ravikovich has died.


The ombudsmans' decision to launch an investigation came after NDP's children and youth services critic MPP Monique Taylor urged him to interevene.

Taylor states:

“The centre was found to be in violation of the Day Nurseries Act and it had at least one other violation in the past year and was subject to at least two other complaints which were not acted on by the Ministry of Education“.
