Many violations were found when York Public Health inspected the illegal home daycare in Vaughan, following the death of Eva Ravikovich in July. The presence of a dangerous bacteria Listeria, as well as improper sanitization and garbage containment were found in the home.

Andrea Calver, coordinator for the Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care says the unlicensed daycare is “a public health nightmare”, and the province should license all home daycares.
